DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC) will hold health insurance marketplace enrollment at several of its health centers Jan. 11-Jan. 13. Because Jan. 15 is a federal holiday (Martin Luther King Day), consumers can enroll until Jan. 16 for coverage that begins effective Feb. 1.

"We're holding these events to ensure that everyone receives the healthcare they're eligible for. Our health insurance navigators will gladly guide participants through the process and find the best health insurance coverage for them," said Chenita LeBlanc, program manager.

Scientists at LSU Health New Orleans’ Neuroscience Center of Excellence, led by Nicolas Bazan, MD, PhD, Boyd professor and director, have identified a new mechanism that regulates a protein key for cell survival. It appears to protect against the excessive oxidative stress that precedes the development of neurodegenerative diseases of the brain and eye. Results are published in the Nature journal, Cell Death & Disease.
