U.S. Judge Blocks Florida Dept of Health...

Update: A federal judge temporarily barred the DeSantis administration from intimidating and coercing television stations that air ads in support of the proposed Amendment 4, which would bar government interference in abortion.

The ruling stops Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo as the head of the Florida Department of Health from acting against broadcasters the department has already threatened with criminal charges.

Cancer Center Expansion Completed at Ter...

A significant renovation and expansion project has been recently completed in a number of areas as part of the Terrebonne General/Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. Terrebonne General has invested more than $4 million into this renovation, which includes adding an infusion suite, a fitness and wellness area, enhancing radiation technology, key cancer support services, and expanding the facility by more than 15,336 square feet.

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center Opens Me...

Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center has announced the opening of a clinic in Metairie, located at 2800 Veterans Memorial Blvd. The clinic specializes in the multidisciplinary management and treatment of patients with urologic cancers, providing advanced care for prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancers. 

The clinic is the Cancer Center’s first in the Metairie area. It will be led by Scott Delacroix, MD, Jessie Gills, MD, and Carrie Marquette, MD.

Terrebonne General Health named Bedford Nieves-Cruz, MD, as the recipient of the Golden Stethoscope Award. Nieves-Cruz has been a neonatologist at Terrebonne General for 26 years and is board-certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine.
