Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center has named Randy Williams to the role of radiation therapy program manager, overseeing all radiation therapy and diagnostic imaging operations at Terrebonne General Health System in Houma.

Williams takes over from Dan Vincent, who is retiring after several decades in the role.

Terrebonne General Health System was named among the top 10 percent in the nation for overall medical excellence and patient safety from CareChex by Qunatros for the 2025 quality award ranking.

Since 2009, CareChex awards have recognized top-performing hospitals based on performance in patient quality outcome measures. Bluebook Quantros uses its innovative medical quality rating system to identify the top performers in 39 categories of care from nearly all general, acute care, and non-federal hospitals in the nation.

The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) is confirming two winter weather-related deaths in Pointe Coupee and Orleans parishes. The Pointe Coupee Parish death was an 85-year-old man in which hypothermia was a contributing factor. The Orleans Parish death was a 60-year-old woman and was attributed to a fire caused by a space heater.

Both deaths were confirmed by the parish coroners as weather-related. No further information about these deaths will be released.

On Jan. 9, LDH reported that a 65-year-old Rapides Parish man died of hypothermia due to winter weather conditions.

S. Dale Jenkins of Covington has been appointed to serve as a member of the St. Tammany Health System Board of Commissioners.

He fills the seat previously occupied by longtime board member James L. Core, who died in late October.
