East Jefferson General Hospital (EJGH) announced its official recognition by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program (MBSAQIP), in partnership with the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS), as a Comprehensive Center with Obesity Medicine Qualifications. This accreditation was received in January and will last three years until January 2028, when the hospital will have to be re-accredited.

St. Tammany Sleep Disorders Center in Covington recently earned program reaccreditation from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

The sleep center, which is a part of St. Tammany Health System, has been accredited by AASM since 2005. This latest reaccreditation remains valid through 2029.

Chartis, a leading healthcare advisory firm, has named Ochsner St. Anne Hospital a Top 100 Critical Access Hospital for 2025. St. Anne Hospital was the only facility in Louisiana included in the list.

DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC) is once again offering free dental screenings and fluoride treatments for children on Give Kids A Smile Day, March 22.

The event, presented by Fore!Kids Foundation, will take place at DCHC’s Carrollton location (3201 S. Carrollton Ave.) from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. and provide children ages one to 10 years old with dental care. Additionally, children will enjoy face-painting, balloon art, games, music from a DJ and more. Last year’s event provided dental services for nearly 130 children.
