Seven Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center locations have received recertification by the QOPI® (Quality Oncology Practice Initiative) Certification Program, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Association for Clinical Oncology and an affiliate of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).   

The QOPI® Certification Program builds on ASCO’s Quality Oncology Practice Initiative, providing a three-year certification for outpatient hematology-oncology practices that meet nationally recognized standards for quality cancer care.

Lakeview Hospital is collecting new, unwrapped toys or gift cards for children to be donated to St. Tammany Project Christmas. This local nonprofit organization provides presents for children and food for family Christmas dinners to local families in need.

The toys are given to parents one week before Christmas so they can surprise their children with gifts on Christmas morning.           

The public can participate from Nov. 17 through Dec. 5 and can drop off items from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. to Lakeview Hospital, Human Resources Department, 95 Judge Tanner Blvd. in Covington.

The Ochsner Xavier Institute for Health Equity and Research invites the public to attend a free event on Nov. 8 for patients, families, caregivers, and healthcare providers to talk openly about heart disease and stroke.

Through real stories, expert guidance, and practical resources, participants will gain tools they can use every day to protect their health, support loved ones, and build stronger, healthier lives.

The event will be held at Ochsner Medical Center, The Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Center, Riverview Terrace, 6th Floor, 1515 River Rd.
