STHS Recognized for Commitment to Excellence in Stroke Care

St. Tammany Parish Hospital has received the American Heart Association’s bronze-level Get With The Guidelines - Stroke quality achievement award for 2026 in recognition of its commitment to ensuring people experiencing stroke receive timely, appropriate treatment based on nationally recognized, research-based guidelines.

The health system’s award was coupled with the Target: Stroke Honor Roll distinction, which is presented to hospitals that meet specific criteria involving the minimizing of time between an eligible patient’s arrival at the hospital and treatment with thrombolytic therapy.

The AHA’s Get With The Guidelines - Stroke program, conducted in concert with the American Stroke Association, is a nationwide in-hospital program designed to improve stroke care through consistent adherence to the latest research- and evidence-based guidelines, which can minimize long-term effects of stroke and help prevent death.

This 2026 recognition is based on data collected between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2025.
