Terrebonne General Health System is hosting Level Up Men’s Health Day on June 6 from 8 a.m.-noon at the Terrebonne General Drive-Thru Center. This outdoor event will feature free men’s health screenings for heart problems, diabetes, prostate cancer, high blood pressure, and offers education and wellness information, corn hole, axe-throwing, darts, giveaways, and a chance to win a DeWalt Bluetooth speaker.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, men are less likely than women to visit a doctor regularly. A Cleveland Clinic survey found that around 60% of men avoid going to the doctor for as long as possible, and many men wait until symptoms become severe before seeking care.
