Terrebonne General Wellness for Life is hosting a free, interactive health, safety, and wellness fair on March 21 from 12- 2 p.m. at the Houma Municipal Auditorium, located at 880 Verret Street in Houma. The event will educate parents and children on healthy living, encourage active participation, promote family engagement, strengthen community connections, create sustainable habits, and provide education on proper child restraints. WIA Kids will take place before the 51st Annual Over and Under Tunnel Run.
The school with the most participation will receive a $500 gift card.
Each participant who completes the punch card given at check-in will receive a free pass to the Tunnel Run Kids Run. The first 150 participants will receive a backpack.
There will also be a free child safety seat fitting station, where certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians will educate parents and caregivers on the proper installation and use of child safety seats in accordance with Louisiana car seat laws. The fitting station is purely educational, and no tickets or citations for improper car seat use will be issued. The first 10 participants who specifically request booster seat assistance will receive a voucher for a free coffee or smoothie.
