Orleans, Jefferson Parish Medical Societies Provide CME, Networking Opportunities

In the next few months, the Orleans Parish Medical Society (OPMS) and Jefferson Parish Medical Society (JPMS) will provide the following CME related to the opioid epidemic, physician burnout, and social determinants in healthcare. The two organizations will also host a meeting in September with Louisiana Secretary of Health, Rebekah Gee, MD.

Controlled Substances for Louisiana Prescribers – Online Opioid CME

At discount rates for OPMS and JPMS members, LAMMICO and Medical Interactive Community now provide three hours of opioid CME that meets the subject requirements specified by Act 76 of the Louisiana legislature and the LSBME rules. Provider Well Being – Burnout Strategies for Success -- CME Event

OPMS, JPMS, and LAMMICO will be presenting a CME course titled Provider Well Being—Burnout Strategies for Success to members on Aug. 29 featuring a presentation by Elmore F. Rigamer, MD, MPA.

Social Determinants Of Health -- CME Event

Dr. Laura Trunk, medical director, Humana, will present a CME on Social Determinants Of Health on Oct. 9. The event will coincide with the National Conference of Social Determinants and will take place at The National WWII Museum in New Orleans, on Oct. 9-10. Look for more information soon.
