STHS’s Orthopedics Program Named to Becker’s Top 100 List

St. Tammany Health System’s award-winning orthopedics program has been recognized by Becker’s Hospital Review with a spot on its 2023 list of 100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Orthopedic Programs.

It is one of only three Louisiana organizations to earn a spot on the list, which celebrates orthopedic programs that offer minimally invasive treatments, forward-thinking research, and breakthrough clinical trials that drastically improve patient outcomes.

In evaluating the STHS ortho program, Becker’s singled out the health system’s “growing arsenal of surgical robots.”

In full, it wrote:

“St. Tammany Health has over five orthopedic specialists in the department offering a full range of care from pediatric orthopedics to sports medicine and robotic-assisted joint replacements. The system also has a growing arsenal of surgical robots including a Stryker Mako system for total hip and knee replacements. Team specialists offer a wide range of both outpatient and inpatient services. The system is also participating in a Medicare initiative called the comprehensive care for joint replacements model, which aims to promote quality care and financial accountability. The clinic has recently undergone an expansion to offer an in-house physical therapy space.”

In addition to the services offered at its flagship St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, St. Tammany Health System’s Orthopedics Program includes its Bone and Joint Clinic, which offers a full array of ortho care, from sports medicine to treatment of chronic conditions.

Additionally, its pediatric orthopedics program is recognized as a Certified Autism Center by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards.
