The New Orleans College Football Championship Host Committee (NOCFCHC) has named Ochsner Health System (Ochsner) its Official Healthcare Provider and the title sponsor for its volunteer programs. The 2020 College Football Playoff (CFP) National Championship will feature a weekend full of fan-friendly events culminating with the CFP National Championship game at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Jan. 13.
“Ochsner is a leader in the New Orleans community and we’re proud to partner with them in our efforts to host the 2020 College Football Playoff National Championship,” said Jeff Hundley, the executive director of the NOCFCHC. “Ochsner’s expertise assures that we will have first-class medical and first aid stations at all CFP events, and its backing for our volunteer program will enhance the experience for the more than 100,000 visitors expected for this tremendous series of events.”
As the Official Healthcare Provider of the New Orleans CFP National Championship Host Committee, Ochsner will have medical and first aid stations across all CFP event locations, including the Playoff Fan Central at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, the Allstate Championship Tailgate Plaza at Jax Brewery, and the AT&T Playoff Playlist Live concert series at Woldenberg Park. Ochsner medical volunteers, including physicians, nurses, and medical students, will staff these stations throughout championship weekend.
The Ochsner volunteer program will be a critical component to New Orleans’ hosting of the CFP National Championship. Thousands of volunteers will fulfill various ambassador roles throughout the city at various events and locations, including Downtown New Orleans, Louis Armstrong International Airport, Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, and the New Orleans Riverfront. More than 100,000 visitors from across the country are expected to attend a full menu of events for fans during the weekend of the title game.
Individuals interested in being a part of the Ochsner Health System Volunteer Program can register by visiting 2020nola.com/volunteer or by contacting the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation at (504) 207-VOLS (8657). Official volunteer training sessions will take place Nov. 16 and Nov. 19 at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and volunteers are asked to commit to at least two volunteer shifts (approximately four hours each) during the championship weekend.
“Ochsner is a proud supporter of community partners, organizations, and events that make New Orleans the best city in the world to live, visit, and work,” said David Gaines, Ochsner Health System. “Our partnership with the Allstate Sugar Bowl, Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation, and the New Orleans College Football Championship Host Committee is a natural extension of the spirit of community service that is a cornerstone of Ochsner and its employees. We’re honored to participate in these exciting events through volunteer support and onsite healthcare services.”
