New State of Lung Cancer Report Highlights How Louisiana Can Address Lung Cancer, Save More Lives

The American Lung Association is releasing the results of its second annual State of Lung Cancer report, which brings together state-specific data to show how the toll of lung cancer varies by state. This report compares state rates for lung cancer incidence (new cases), survival, early diagnosis, cases treated surgically, lack of treatment and screening among those eligible, and shows how Louisiana and other states can do more to reduce the burden of lung cancer.

Over the past 10 years the survival rate has dramatically increased, yet lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer deaths.

Lung.org/solc detailing the report will be live at 12:01 a.m. ET on Nov. 13.
