LSU Health’s Human Development Center Offers Child Care Scholarships

The Early Head Start Child Care Partnership at LSU Health New Orleans’ Human Development Center is offering scholarships for early child care to qualified applicants. The partnership supports Early Head Start programs in the Greater New Orleans area.

Up to 100 scholarships will pay for child care at eight Early Head Start partner sites.

“Quality child care for infants and toddlers is expensive and can be hard to find,” said Maria T. Blanco, MEd, assistant professor and director of Early Childhood Initiatives at LSU Health New Orleans’ Human Development Center. “These scholarships will help families with young children who need assistance to cover the high cost of quality child care. Parents can go to work and know their child is in a safe and enriching environment.”

The scholarships will run from August 2022 through July 2023. They are renewable until the child is three years old.
