Lakeview Hospital Hosts Community Wellness Event

Lakeview Hospital is hosting a wellness and shopping experience on Aug. 20 for individuals of all ages centered on health, safety, and fall prevention. Nearly 50 vendors will offer free health screenings, interactive wellness education, local shopping, food and beverages, nonprofit engagement, and entertainment. This event is open to the public and will benefit the Lakeview Hospital Fall Prevention Program.

“At Lakeview Hospital, our priority is helping patients thrive at every stage of life,” said Heather Rietschel, rehab supervisor and co-chair of the Wellness & Shopping Pop-Up. “This event gives us the chance to go beyond the clinic and connect with the community in a meaningful way. And while fall prevention is often associated with older adults, our younger attendees will gain a lot from this event, too, especially when it comes to building lifelong habits for strength, safety, and wellness.”

Health screenings include balance, blood pressure, vision, skin cancer screenings, and hand-grip strength tests. Attendees can learn about healthy food preparation and gardening tips, stroke prevention, fire safety, mental health, and more.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Lakeview Hospital, Registration Pavilion, 95 Judge Tanner Blvd. in Covington.
