The McNulty Foundation, in partnership with the Aspen Global Leadership Network, has donated $7,500 to LSU Health New Orleans to support its community COVID-19 testing effort.
“This donation will assist our efforts to strategically deploy COVID-19 tests to high-risk groups and/or underserved communities,” said Lucio Miele, MD, PhD, who heads up COVID-19 and antibody testing at LSU Health New Orleans.
The contribution comes from the Global Response Fund launched by the McNulty Foundation in partnership with the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN).
LSU Health New Orleans has partnered with LCMC Health and the New Orleans Health Department to bring free, walk-up testing to thousands of high-risk people in vulnerable neighborhoods throughout metropolitan New Orleans.
“Testing is at the heart of conquering the COVID epidemic,” says Rebekah Gee, MD, CEO of LSU Healthcare Services Division. “We are grateful to the Aspen Institute and McNulty Foundation’s support for LSU Health’s efforts to test New Orleans.”
