DePaul Community Health Centers to Offer Free Health Screenings Jan. 24

DePaul Community Health Centers will provide free health screenings during the New Year, New You Health Fest, a community health fair hosted by St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church’s Health Ministry on Jan. 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place at the church located at 455 Ames Blvd. in Marrero and is free and open to the public.

The health fair is designed to promote preventive care, health education, and community wellness at the start of the new year. Attendees will have access to free health screenings, a research seminar with incentives, health information resources, and giveaways. Flu vaccines will also be available for those with insurance, including Medicare and Medicaid.

Other organizations participating in the event include Xavier University of Louisiana’s Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities Research and Education, Walgreens, Lions Clubs International, and Ochsner Health.
