DCHC Holds Free Rapid HIV Testing Event

The Infectious Disease Department at DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC) announced a special event in recognition of National HIV Testing Day. Community members are invited to receive free rapid HIV testing with quick and confidential results on June 27, from 12 p.m.-5 p.m. at DCHC’s Harvey Clinic, 1629 Westbank Expressway, Suite A, in Harvey.

Free rapid home HIV test kits will also be available. Attendees will learn about Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), the latest HIV statistics, and the comprehensive sexual health services offered at DCHC. Information about the Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program, which supports people living with HIV, will also be provided.

"This event is an excellent opportunity for the community to access vital health services and information," said Michael G. Griffin, MSPH, DSc, FACHE, president & CEO of DePaul Community Health Centers. "By offering free rapid HIV testing and educational resources, we aim to promote awareness and prevention, ultimately reducing the spread of HIV."

National HIV Testing Day is an annual observance to encourage people of all ages to "Take the Test, Take Control." Early detection through testing is crucial for effective treatment and prevention of HIV.
