The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) announced an 11 percent decline in new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) diagnoses over the past five years.
LDH reports a decrease in new HIV cases from 964 diagnosed with HIV in 2018 to 860 diagnosed in 2022. As of June 2023, the number of individuals living with HIV in Louisiana stands at 22,920.

DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC) will partner with Second Harvest Food Bank (SHFB) for their monthly, free drive-thru food pantry on Dec. 7.
The event, which will take place at DCHC’s Carrollton Warehouse (located behind the Carrollton health center at 3201 Short Street), will begin at 9 a.m. The event will end once all food has been given away.
The DCHC/SHFB food pantry is usually held the second Friday of each month. The change in December is due to delivery scheduling changes by Second Harvest Food Bank. The food pantry is open to the public.

Terrebonne General Health System and ProxsysRX announced the grand opening of the Terrebonne General Pharmacy, held on Nov. 16 at 8:30 am in the Terrebonne General Medical Atrium. The full-service retail pharmacy will provide a variety of services, including the "Meds to Beds" prescription delivery service, which allows patients to be discharged with their needed prescription medications.
