Governor Landry Announces New Secretary of Louisiana Department of Health In April, Governor Jeff Landry announced the appointment of Bruce Greenstein as Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health. Greenstein has spent the last 30 years in healthcare – split between the public and pri- vate sectors. “With his deep understanding of healthcare systems, fromMedicaid to post-acute care, Bruce Greenstein’s appointment as Secretary of the Lou- isiana Department of Health marks a new era for Louisiana’s healthcare. There is no one more qualified than Bruce. I look forward to the great work he, Doctor Abraham, and the entire LDH team will do for the State of Louisiana,” said Gov. Landry. “Bruce has incredible industry experience and brings so much to the table. He is a critical addi- tion to the LDH team that will work together to bring transformative change in healthcare to the state of Louisiana. We will be a unified front that takes a creative approach to improving health outcomes and providing better services to Lou- isiana residents,” said Surgeon General Ralph Abraham. In 2017 and 2018, he was the chief technology officer at the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services. In state government, Greenstein was the Health Secretary for Bobby Jindal in Louisi- ana, and before that he was running Microsoft’s worldwide health and human services business division. Prior to Microsoft, Greenstein was at CMS over- seeing Medicaid Managed Care and Waivers & Demonstrations. He has run operations in behav- ioral health and spent time in venture capital and private equity and is on the boards of a publicly traded healthcare company, a health technol- ogy company, and two private equity companies addressing the home health market and has been an advisor to the health informatics programs at George Washington University and the Univer- sity of Louisiana. Artistic Murals Unveiled at DCHC Algiers DePaul Community Health Centers (DCHC) cel- ebrated the unveiling of its artistic murals, cre- ated by world-renowned visual artist and Algiers native, Brandan “BMIKE” Odums, on March 20 at its Algiers health center on General DeGaulle Drive. The murals represent both the legacy of the Daughters of Charity and the work of DCHC. Eight Daughters of Charity unveiled the murals alongside BMIKE and Michael Griffin, MSPH, DSc, FACHC, DCHC's president and CEO. DCHC’s Algiers’ location opened in August 2024 and provides primary and preventive care for children and adults, behavioral healthcare for children and adults, optometry, Medicaid/ Medi- care enrollment assistance, urgent care, and phar- macy services. Imaging like x-rays and mammog- raphy will soon be available to patients. Thibodaux Regional Welcomes Sharis Steib, MD, to the Medical Staff Thibodaux Regional Health System announced the addition of Sharis Steib, MD, physical med- icine and rehabilitation specialist (physiatrist)/ pain management specialist, to the active med- ical staff. Steib is available to care for patients at Thibodaux Regional Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinic, located at 726 North Aca- dia Road, Suite 1700, Thibodaux, and Thibodaux Regional Pain Clinic, 726 North Acadia Road, Suite 2400, Thibodaux. Steib earned an undergraduate degree in biological engineering from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She received a medi- cal degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and completed an internship in internal medicine at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. Steib completed a residency in physical medi- cine and rehabilitation as well as a fellowship in pain medicine at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Steib specializes in the non-operative, conser- vative management of disorders of the muscles, tendons, ligaments, joints, nerves, brain, and spi- nal cord. She also specializes in treating various pain conditions. Terrebonne General Performance Training Center Opens New Expanded Location Terrebonne General Performance Training Center announced the grand opening of its new expanded location. The upgraded facility features expanded workout areas, state-of-the-art equip- ment, and expert-led programs dedicated to sup- porting the fitness goals of student-athletes and the general population. The Performance Training Center is located at 443 Corporate Drive in Houma. Memberships are now available, and there is no enrollment fee. Bayou Pediatrics Joins Manning Family Children’s Bayou Pediatrics in Houma joined Manning Family Children’s network of pediatric primary practices.
