Miller is a New Orleans native and is board-certified in internal medicine and endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism. He earned a medical degree at Louisiana State University Medical School and com- pleted an internal medicine residency and endocrinology fellowship at Alton Ochsner Medical Foundation in New Orleans. Mill- er is a fellow with the American College of Endocrinology. Orleans Parish Medical Society pres- ident is Joshua Lowentritt, MD, FASN, a local practicing internist and nephrologist since 2001. He completed medical training at Tulane. Lowentritt led a multi-special- ty medical group in New Orleans for 15 years as managing partner. He is medical director of CMS 4-star and 5-star dialysis clinics. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Award from Leading Age in 2017 for his long-term care medical director ac- tivities. Outside of clinical practice, he has focused on helping primary care practices and community health centers succeed in value-based care. He founded Louisiana Physicians ACO in 2014 along with inde- pendent practices across the state. In the past 10 years, these five member clinics have earned over $15 million in shared savings bonuses. Lowentritt recently co-authored a peer-reviewed article “Chronic kidney dis- ease and value-based care: Lessons from innovation, iteration, and ideation in pri- mary care.” He works with Aledade, Inc. as senior medical director; he is Aledade’s lead physician for clinical engagement for Mark Rice, MD President MASELA company-wide innovation projects to its 1,900 partner practices. InApril, many of MASELA’s members will make our annual trip to Baton Rouge for White CoatWednesday. White CoatWednes- day is an event hosted by the Physician Coalition of Louisiana and Louisiana State Medical Society. Physicians from around the state join together in Baton Rouge to visit our legislators. The physicians are able to discuss the challenges of healthcare in Lou- isiana, the successes of previous legislative actions, and how our state can continue to improve quality of life and quality of care for Louisiana. All physicians are invited and encouraged to attend the event April 10, 2024.
