Terrebonne General Health SystemWelcomes Logan S. Ledet, MD Terrebonne General Health System welcomes Logan S. Ledet, MD, infectious disease special- ist, to its medical staff. Ledet is a Thibodaux native and graduated with honors from Nicholls State University. She com- pleted a Doctor of Medicine from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans and underwent an internal medicine residency at Ochsner Clinic Foundation. She then went on to complete an infectious disease fellowship at Louisiana State Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Ledet is double board-certified in infectious diseases and internal medicine by the American Board on Internal Medicine. During her medical training, Ledet was named LSU Internal Medicine Fellow of the Year, received the Dr. Richard Morvant Sr. Award for Outstanding Biology Graduate, and was awarded the Nicholls State University Presidential Medal of Honor. She is a member of the Infectious Disease Society of America, the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association. Ledet will see patients in the hospital and at Internal Medicine Specialist, located on the third floor of the Terrebonne General Health System Medical Atrium. North Oaks Health System Graduates Dietetic Interns North Oaks Health System’s Dietetic Intern- ship faculty and staff honored seven graduates for completing the program with a graduation ceremony on June 15. The health system’s Chief Human Resources Officer Jeff Jarreau presided over the ceremony held at the E. Brent Dufreche Conference Center on the North Oaks Medical Center campus. Graduates included Peyton Cherry of Coving- ton; Pamela Cosio of Oxnard, California; Han- nah LeCompte of Husser; Gabriella Miller and Alexis Theriot of Hammond; Yoshihiro Motomura of Chico, California (originally from Japan); and Cam’ryn Panks of Baton Rouge. Two graduates received awards. Alexis Theriot received the Mary Nelson Award that is given by program preceptors and faculty in recognition of eagerness to learn, dedication to the profession, and high professional standards. The award was presented by North Oaks Clinical Nutrition Manager Ashley Smith and is named for the late Mary Nelson, who gave 30 years to the profession of dietetics and educating dietitians. Yoshihiro Motomura was selected by his peers to receive the Dannye Young Taylor “Always Remembering Others” Award in recognition of selfless assistance of others and teamwork. Now retired, Taylor was a longtime patient represen- tative for North Oaks Health System. The award was created in her honor by her husband, Rodney Taylor, MD, in recognition of her motto, “Always remember others.” North Oaks Dietetic Intern- ship Program Director Leslie Ballard presented the award to Motomura. Diplomas were conferred by Ballard. Ochsner Health, MDAnderson Announce Partnership to Create Fully Integrated Cancer Program in LA Ochsner Health and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center announced a part- nership to create Ochsner MD Anderson Cancer Center in southeastern Louisiana. Through this collaboration, Ochsner is the first and only pro- vider in Louisiana with a fully integrated cancer program based on MD Anderson’s standards and treatment plans. “As the state’s leader in cancer care, we’re proud to partner with one of the global leaders in cancer care to provide a full continuum of ser- vices close to home for our patients,” said Mike Hulefeld, president and chief operating officer, Ochsner Health. “Beyond MD Anderson’s acco- lades and top national rankings, its clinicians and researchers advance innovative therapies through clinical trials several years before they become standard practice. Now, our patients will benefit from this expanded breadth of experience and therapies in Louisiana.” Ochsner is one of only seven MD Anderson partners in the country and the only one in Lou- isiana.
