She received a Master of Arts in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York, and a Master of Business Administration from Barry Uni- versity in Miami Shores, Florida. Ansert earned a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine and completed a residency at St. Vincent Hospital in Worchester, Massachusetts, where she served as chief resident. Additionally, Ansert completed a fellowship in diabetic limb salvage at the Univer- sity of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. She specializes in all foot and ankle conditions, with an emphasis on diabetic limb salvage, wound care, and diabetic foot care. Terrebonne General Health SystemHonors Peter Fail, MD Terrebonne General Health System honored Peter Fail, MD, interventional cardiologist, as the recipient of the Golden Stethoscope Award. The Golden Stethoscope Award publicly rec- ognizes a Terrebonne General physician for their exceptional professionalism, integrity, and team- work in caring for patients and families and inter- acting with hospital staff members and other phy- sicians. Nominations can be made by physicians, employees, patients, and volunteers. Two physi- cians a year are recognized with this award. Fail has served as an interventional cardiologist at Terrebonne General for 27 years. He is board- certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular dis- ease, and interventional cardiology. He is level- three-certified in the cardiovascular computed tomography (CT) experience program. He has written or co-authored numerous research papers, abstracts, book chapters, and medical presenta- tions in his specialty. Fail is the co-director of the structural heart pro- gram at Terrebonne General Health System and works closely alongside area cardiovascular sur- geons as part of a comprehensive heart team to perform interventional procedures for structural defects and complex aortic disorders. Addition- ally, Fail has served as the principal investigator and sub-investigator for numerous research trials piloting research devices to treat a multitude of conditions in the structural arena. Fail graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of South Florida. He continued on to attend medical school at the American University of the Caribbean. He then completed an intern- ship and residency at Episcopal Heart Institute in Philadelphia, followed by a fellowship in cardiol- ogy at the same institution. Terrebonne General Health SystemNames Director of Women’s Health Center Terrebonne General Health System has named Emily Thompson, RN, as the newWomen's Health Center director. Thompson began her career at Terrebonne General as an RN extern while attend- ing Nicholls State University, where she later grad- uated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Thompson worked for several years in the Wom- en’s Health Center on the Mother/Baby Unit and Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). She later obtained an International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBCLC) Certification and moved to the Lactation Department. During this time, she was instrumental in assisting the orga- nization to achieve the Baby-Friendly USA and GIFT designations. Thompson also holds the National Certification Corporation for Maternal-Newborn Nursing cer- tification. She has participated in the Louisiana Perinatal Quality Collaborative (LaPQC), which has required her to work with a network of peri- natal care providers, public health professionals, and advocates who work to improve outcomes for birthing persons, families, and newborns in Louisiana. Ochsner Offers Tuition Assistance to Aspiring Nurses, Doctors Ochsner Health expanded its Ochsner Schol- ars program for aspiring nurses and physicians ready to fill critical healthcare shortages in local communities.
