To better prepare STAR pupils for the workforce, students will learn leadership development and other important professional development skills from career development experts. These include presentation skills, resume writing and interview skills, teambuilding, and professionalism in the workplace. STAR’s comprehensive program also includes CPR certification for each participating student. The program is competitive. In 2022,15 rising high school seniors were selected from a pool of more than 150 applicants. Fragoso as President, CEO Children’s Hospital New Orleans announced the selection of Lucio A. Fragoso as its new president and CEO. Fragoso, who first joined Children’s Hospital New Orleans in 2019, was promoted to the new role after serving as the hospital’s chief financial officer and chief administrative officer. Fragoso was named to the new role after former president and CEO, John R. Nickens, IV, was pro- moted to serve as president of hospital services and chief of pediatrics for LCMC Health, the nine- hospital health system that manages Children’s Hospital New Orleans.
