Ochsner Health Joins End Drug Shortages Alliance Ochsner Health announced it has joined a new coalition of diverse stakeholders to address drug shortages in the United States. The End Drug Shortages Alliance provides a forum for key stake- holders to take strategic aim at one of healthcare’s more pressing and enduring issues, drug short- ages that disrupt patient care. “Drug shortages continue to impact care and care delivery for Ochsner Health hospitals and partnering organizations,” said Dawn Pevey, CEO, System Centers of Excellence & Service Lines for Ochsner Health. “As a member of the alliance, we will work to develop strategies that all market participants can agree on to address issues con- tributing to these shortages.” The End Drug Shortages Alliance was launched in late 2021 to bring together industry stakehold- ers, including providers, group purchasing orga- nizations, manufacturers, distributors, and other medications. “We are grateful to the Anticoagulation Cen- ters of Excellence for this recognition,” said Chris- tine T. Russo, PharmD., MHA, CACP, St. Tammany Health System Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator – Outpatient Pharmacy Services. “St. Tammany is dedicated to actively participating in all aspects of our patients’ care since working together with our patients is the best way to improve health outcomes.” Eli Ayoub Joins LCMC Health as Vice President of Specialty Pharmacy LCMC Health announced Elias “Eli” Ayoub, PharmD as vice president of specialty pharmacy for the hospital system. In this role, Ayoub will be responsible for the ongoing development of clinical programs and product management to support the system’s specialty pharmacy busi- ness. He will also be instrumental in the buildout of the LCMC Health Specialty Pharmacy at Chil- dren’s Hospital New Orleans that is set to open later this year. Ayoub has spent the last seven years of his career in various leadership roles in pharmacy operations, business planning, regulatory compli- ance, and process improvement. Most recently, he served as director of pharmacy for a federally qual- ified health center in Boston, where he led their EPIC Willow Ambulatory and automatic dispens- ing cabinet installs. Prior to this, Ayoub served as director of pharmacy for a hospital in Michigan, building a specialty pharmacy program there and successfully completed URAC and ACHC accredi- tation in 10 months. Additionally, Ayoub designed and built an independent specialty and home infu- sion pharmacy from the ground up in Southwest- ern Michigan. Ayoub also served as a pharmacy district manager, leading 27 stores and leading his region in sales. “We are excited to welcome Eli to our LCMC Health family,” said Greg Feirn, CEO, LCMC Health. “He is a results-oriented leader with a proven track record and depth of expertise in specialty pharmacy. Eli will be a great asset as we continue to anticipate and meet the needs of our pharmacy clients.” Ayoub holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Worcester State College and a Doctor of Phar- macy from the Massachusetts College of Phar- macy and Health Sciences. Ayoub also serves as a certified consultant with the Accreditation Commission for Health Care, Inc (ACHC) in dura- ble medical equipment, prosthetics, orthotics, and supplies (DMEPOS) and specialty pharmacy standards. LakeviewRegional Announces Daisy AwardWinner Lakeview Regional Medical Center, a campus of Tulane Medical Center, presented labor and delivery nurse Lauren Rachal, BSN, RN, with the DAISY Award for the first quarter of 2022. The DAISY Award is a nationwide program that hon- ors and celebrates nurses. Rachal has been a nurse at Lakeview Regional since January 2017. She was nominated by two families for her “compassion and kindness.” STQNAnnounces 2022 Second Quarter Medical Director’s Award St. Tammany Quality Network presented its 2022 second-quarter Medical Director’s Award to McCall McDaniel, MD, for her guidance in achiev- ing Certified Autism Center certifications for tar- geted programs at St. Tammany Health System. “Dr. McDaniel has been an advocate for our pediatric autism patients,” said Michael K. Hill, MD. “She has done incredible work in assist- ing our relevant departments and programs to achieve this certification. This is in addition to all she has done to develop a first-class pediatric spine program at STHS.” McDaniel is an orthopedic surgery specialist in Covington.
