Pourciau will be responsible for supporting gov- ernmental relations, fostering strategic partner- ships, and developing innovative initiatives for the health system effective Jan. 3. Pourciau brings nearly 15 years of healthcare and government relations experience to the LCMC Health team. Prior to joining in the orga- nization, Pourciau served the New Orleans com- munity as chief of staff for LaToya Cantrell in her positions as mayor and District B councilmem- ber. Throughout his years of public service, Pour- ciau provided high-level local and state legislative oversight and advised the city on key programs including the Fair Share Initiative, affordable hous- ing policy development, and other priorities. Pourciau earned a bachelor’s degree in polit- ical science from Amherst College and a juris doctorate from Beasley School of Law at Temple University. Terrebonne General Health SystemNames TeresitaMcNabb as Senior Vice President of Clinical Services Terrebonne General Health System named Tere- sita McNabb, RN, MSHSA, NE-A, CLNC, as senior vice president of clinical services, where she will oversee all clinical aspects of the health system. McNabb has been with Terrebonne General for more than 36 years. She began her career as an intensive care unit staff nurse and worked her way up to her most recent role as vice president of nursing services, where she served on the execu- tive team for nearly 20 years. In her VP role, she was responsible for developing and implement- ing the hospital’s plan for providing nursing care to patients in multiple settings. Through the years, McNabb has held many roles on various committees throughout the health sys- tem that work to improve patient care, employee communication, and nursing staff education. Her new senior-level role will address more strategic initiatives to stratify the organization for future growth and development. McNabb was appointed by Gov. John Bel Edwards to the Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LSBN) for the second time. Ochsner’s # AlcoholFreeFor40 Challenge Encourages Taking a Break fromAlcohol To encourage Louisianians to take a break from alcohol, Ochsner Eat Fit is kicking off its seventh annual Alcohol Free for 40 Challenge on Ash Wednesday, March 2. Cutting out alcohol even for just 40 days can sig- nificantly improve whole-body wellness. This chal- lenge provides participants with the resources, education, and support needed to abstain from alcohol and benefit from a “wellness spring clean- ing.” In fact, data from past Alcohol Free for 40 challenges reveals substantial health improve- ments including a significant drop in blood pres- sure, weight, and body fat, along with improved cholesterol, triglycerides, and liver enzymes. Participants in the challenge are asked to stop drinking alcohol completely for 40 days — from March 2 (Ash Wednesday) until April 17 (Easter Sunday). Anyone can join the #AlcoholFreeFor40 Face- book group for social support and comradery, to ask questions, follow the journey of others, and share personal experiences, challenges, and successes. Terrebonne General Health SystemReceives a 2022 Women’s Choice Award Terrebonne General Health System has been named one of America’s Best Hospitals for Outpa- tient Experience by the Women’s Choice Award. The award recognizes high patient satisfaction, outstanding experience, and the doctors’ and nurses’ exceptional patient communication. Ter- rebonne General has received this award three years running. Mark Jones, MD, Receives STQN 2021 Fourth Quarter Medical Director’s Award St. Tammany Quality Network presented its 2021 fourth-quarter Medical Director’s Award to Mark Jones, MD, for his role in establishing the trauma program at St. Tammany Health System. Jones is a board-certified general surgeon. He has been on staff at STHS for seven years.
