The Rev. Phineas Marr will provide patients and caregivers with nondenominational spiritual guidance and support while receiving medical treatment at the Northshore hospital. Tulane Lakeside Hospital Maintains A Safety Rating Tulane Lakeside Hospital was awarded an A rat- ing from The Leapfrog Group. The designation recognizes Tulane Lakeside’s longstanding efforts in protecting patients from errors, injuries, acci- dents and infections. Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center, Terrebonne General Host Screening Event Many Houma-area residents took proactive measures to protect their health by participating in Terrebonne General | Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center’s Live Well Bayou event at the Terrebonne General Health SystemDrive-Thru Center. Funded by Cenac Marine Services, Bayou Region residents received screenings for four different types of can- cers and other health screenings at no cost at the Nov. 6 event. Live Well cancer screenings included breast, colorectal, prostate and skin. A total of 195 can- cer screenings took place, resulting in 12 partici- pants receiving an abnormal finding at the time of their screening. Over 35% of participants had Ochsner Awarded Advanced Total Hip, Knee Replacement Certification fromJoint Commission Ochsner Medical Center and Ochsner Hospital for Orthopedics and Sports Medicine have earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Total Hip and Knee Replacement Certi- fication. Terrebonne General Health SystemWelcomes NewHospital Medicine Physicians Terrebonne General Health System announced the addition of three new hospital medicine phy- sicians to its medical staff. Caleb Dupre, MD, Renata Harkcom, MD, and Sarah T. Oncale, DO, MS, have joined the medical staff. Dupre, a native of Houma, graduated cum laude from Nicholls State University with a Bachelor of Science. He completed a Doctor of Medicine and residency in internal medicine and pediatrics from Louisiana State University Health in Shreveport, Louisiana. While there, he was appointed chief resident and was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society and Alpha Omega Alpha. Harkcom earned a Bachelor of Science from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Mich- igan. She received a Master of Public Health, Global Health Systems, and Development and a Doctor of Medicine from Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans. Harkcom completed a family medicine residency at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Jackson. Oncale, a Houma native, received a Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University - Shreve- port. She earned a Master of Science in Medical Science from Mississippi College in Clinton and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartan- burg, South Carolina. Oncale completed an inter- nal medicine residency at CUSOM/UNC-South- eastern Health in Lumberton, North Carolina. LCMCHealth Launches Second Part of $7MStormRelief Funds Leaders from LCMC Health launched the sec- ond part of its employee assistance fund for those who were impacted by Hurricane Ida. Operation HOME was launched last month to provide immediate financial assistance to the LCMC family to help in recovery and rebuilding from the storm. To date, more than 6,600 of LCMC Health’s 12,000 employees have received assis- tance through this initial launch with a value cur- rently reaching $3.2 million. LCMC Health has launched a $3 million fund to provide additional financial support for employees who sustained catastrophic losses from the storm. LCMC Health provided a $2.5 million investment in this fund and looks to receive some $500,000 from outside businesses and individuals to sup- port the effort. Administered and managed by the Greater New Orleans Foundation (GNOF), this fund will provide team members up to $5,000 for help in recovery and rebuilding from the storm due to devastating damage.
