Her new role will entail overseeing the Health and Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) departments. Dupre has been a TGMC team member for 26 years. She began as an occupational therapist in the Rehabilitation Department and was promoted to the director of rehabilitation position in 2004. Dupre serves as a surveyor for the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) where she surveys other rehabilitation facilities across the country to ensure that they meeting CARF standards. Dupre has taken an active role in ensuring and maintaining that TGMC remains CARF Accredited, a distinction that Rehabilitation Department has had since 1997. LakeviewRegional Welcomes NewManager of Outpatient Surgery, Endoscopy, PACU, PAT Lakeview Regional Medical Center, a campus of Tulane Medical Center, announced the addition of Rachael Wilson, RN, BSN, as the new manager of outpatient surgery, endoscopy, post-anesthe- sia care unit (PACU), and pre-admit testing (PAT). Wilson comes to Lakeview Regional with 12 years of experience at Ochsner Health System. For the last six years, she served as the director of nursing, where she was responsible for strategic oversight of 348 full-time employees, 150 beds for hospital medicine, medical telemetry stepdown, and acute psychiatry. Prior, she held positions as the unit director of medical/surgical intensive care and the surgical step-down unit, administrative projects coordinator for special projects, and operations coordinator for PACU. Wilson was also the chief nursing officer at River Oaks Behavioral Hospital in Harahan, and overall has 26 years of clinical nurs- ing experience. “Rachael brings a wealth of experience from her time at Ochsner Main and a proven track record of strong leadership,” said Scott Montgomery, Lakeview Regional COO, ethics and compliance officer. “Rachael is a Northshore resident and is excited about serving our community and improv- ing the lives of our patients.” Wilson holds a Bachelor of Science in Nurs- ing from Louisiana State University. She has been awarded for her nursing and leadership skills and served as president, vice president, and secretary of the Louisiana Association of Peri-Anesthesia Nursing. Ochsner Medical CenterWest Bank Expands Infusion Center Ochsner Medical Center – West Bank Campus (OMC – West Bank) has expanded its infusion cen- ter, growing its capacity to serve patients close to home. The expanded infusion center is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on the second floor of the hospital located at 2500 Belle Chasse Highway in Gretna. The expanded infusion center features an open floor plan with plenty of windows and is divided into three pods – each with three or four infu- sion chairs with a dedicated TV for each and ample space for a visitor chair. A variety of ame- nities are available including meals and snacks, warm blankets and pillows, and crocheted hats. The expanded infusion center can serve up to 13 patients at one time, and on average, a total of 20 to 30 patients are served each day. This expanded offering is an enhancement to OMC – West Bank’s treating cancer patients requiring chemotherapy treatments as well as patients in need other infusions including immu- notherapy, blood products, iron infusions, thera- peutic phlebotomy, and IV hydrations. “At Ochsner, we are always looking for innova- tive ways to expand services to fit the growing needs of our community. Owen Grossman, MD, Honored as Recipient of TGMCGolden Stethoscope Award Terrebonne General Medical Center (TGMC) announced Owen Grossman, MD, emergency medicine, as the recipient of the Golden Stetho- scope Award. The Golden Stethoscope Award publicly recog- nizes a TGMC physician for his or her exceptional level of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork in caring for patients and families, as well as inter- acting with hospital staff members and other phy- sicians. Nominations can be made by physicians, employees, patients, and volunteers and recog- nizes two physicians a year. “It is an honor to present Dr. Owen Grossman the Golden Stethoscope Award,” said Phyllis Peo- ples, TGMC president and CEO. He has been car- ing for this community and a respected part of the TGMC family for quite some time. “ Grossman, an emergency medicine physician has been a member of the TGMC team for more than 16 years. He completed medical school at Medical College of Pennsylvania, an internship in family practice at University of Oklahoma, and a residency at the University of Wyoming. He is board-certified in family medicine and sports medicine. St. Tammany Health SystemNamed a Top Small Teaching Hospital St. Tammany Health System’s Covington hos- pital was named a Top Small Teaching Hospital nationally by The Leapfrog Group. Leapfrog’s Top Hospital Awards, which recog- nize hospitals in a number of categories, is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive awards American hospitals can receive. St. Tammany Health System’s Covington hos- pital is the only one in Louisiana to be named a Leapfrog Top Teaching Hospital for 2020. It was recognized in the small hospital category, which is for those with 500 or fewer beds. Neighboring hospital Our Lady of the Angels in Bogalusa was recognized as a Top Rural Hospital.
