Slidell Memorial Hospital Selects Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Financial Officer Slidell Memorial Hospital (SMH) has selected Kimberly Walker as chief nursing officer and Pat- rick Bolander as chief financial officer. Walker most recently served as the chief nurs- ing officer since 2018 at St. Joseph Hospital in Tuc- son, Ariz. Under Walker’s leadership in Tucson, the hospital accomplished the implementation of a virtual patient sitter platform, reduction of over- all nurse employee turnover, and developed a nursing shared governance program led by unit- based councils. “I am excited to begin this new journey, and I hope to make a positive impact on not only my fellow team members but the community as a whole,” said Walker. Walker earned a Bachelor of Science in Nurs- ing from Millersville University, as well as a Mas- ter of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix, and she is currently enrolled in a Mas- ter of Business Administration program at Grand Canyon University. Under terms of the Joint Operating Agreement between SMH and Ochsner Health, Bolander is now the CFO of the Slidell division, including SMH, Ochsner Medical Center – Northshore, and related clinics and outpatient facilities. In this posi- tion, Bolander will report to Badinger. Bolander most recently served as the CFO at HighPoint Health Systems (LifePoint), a four-hos- pital system in Gallatin, Tennessee. Bolander earned a Master of Business Adminis- tration degree from East Tennessee State Univer- sity, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Account- ing from Indiana State University. Prior to his work at HighPoint, Bolander was also CFO at East Cooper Medical Center (Tenet Health) in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina; Indiana University Health (Methodist & University Hospi- tals) in Indianapolis; Johnson City Medical Center (Mountain States Health Alliance) in Johnson City, Tennessee; and other hospitals in Tennessee, Ken- tucky, and Georgia. LakeviewRegional Hires Hamid Salam, MD Lakeview Regional Medical Center announced the addition of Hamid Salam, MD, FACC, a triple board-certified physician in interventional cardiol- ogy, cardiovascular disease and internal medicine. Salam was most recently the director of the heart team and trans-catheter aortic valve replace- ment program at St. Tammany Parish Hospital. He also served as the medical director of the cardio- vascular service line and chest pain center there. Before practicing at St. Tammany Parish Hospital, he was in private practice in Covington and ear- lier in Chicago. Salam earned a medical degree in Pakistan at Dow Medical College. After moving to the United States, he completed a residency at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he also com- pleted a fellowship in cardiology. Terrebonne General Health SystemOpens New Drive-Thru Center Terrebonne General Health System announced the opening of its new drive-thru center, adjacent to the Terrebonne General campus. This location will make it easier to perform various tests, screen- ings, and vaccinations from the comfort of a vehi- cle. The drive-thru center is located at 8200 Main Street on the corner of Main and Liberty, and eas- ily accessed off Main Street. Currently, COVID-19 vaccines and testing are provided by appointment only by calling (985) 873-HOUMA (4686). Doctor’s orders are neces- sary for tests, and identification and any insurance cards are needed at the time of your appointment.
