Brees DreamFoundationMakes $5MDonation to Ochsner Health to Support Creation of Community Health Centers Ochsner Health announced a commitment of $5M from the Brees Dream Foundation to sup- port the creation of community health centers in Louisiana. The health centers will offer primary and specialty care to underserved communities in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. This donation comes after Brittany and Drew Brees committed $5M in March to organize and mobilize meal programs throughout the state of Louisiana for all commu- nities impacted by COVID-19. The community health centers will be in neigh- borhoods with limited health resources and tai- lor services and specialties to the unique needs of area residents. Acadian Ambulance Receives American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline EMS Awards Seven of Acadian Ambulance’s service areas have received the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline® EMS Award for implementing quality improvement measures for the treatment of patients who experienced severe heart attacks, known as STEMIs, during 2019. Ochsner Hospital for Children is the only children’s hos- pital in Louisiana or Mississippi to be nationally ranked among the top 50 children’s hospitals in the country and has received this distinction for four consecutive years.  American Heart Association Recognizes STHS for Stroke Care St. Tammany Health System and its flagship St. Tammany Parish Hospital have received the Amer- ican Heart Association/American Stroke Associa- tion’s 2020 Get with the Guidelines Target: Stroke Honor Roll Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award. The award, which STHS has won previously, recognizes the hospital’s commitment to ensur- ing stroke patients receive the most appropriate treatment according to nationally recognized, research-based guidelines based on the latest scientific evidence. STHS earned the award by meeting specific quality achievement measures for the diagno- sis and treatment of stroke patients at a set level for a designated period. These measures include evaluation of the proper use of medications and other stroke treatments aligned with the most up- to-date, evidence-based guidelines with the goal of speeding recovery and reducing death and disability for stroke patients. Before discharge, The Performance and Attitude Award for excep- tional performance in the clinical setting was pre- sented to Braud by Heath Bailey, the school’s clin- ical coordinator. North Oaks Radiology Support Supervisor Ken- neth Travis presented the Dannye Young Taylor Always Remembering Others Award, named in honor of the health system’s patient representa- tive, to Badon in recognition of his outstanding patient care skills. Ochsner Ranked #1 Hospital in Louisiana by U.S. News &World Report Ochsner Medical Center (OMC), inclusive of Ochsner Medical Center- West Bank Cam- pus and Ochsner Baptist*, has been ranked the #1 hospital in Louisiana for the ninth consecutive year and recognized as a Best Hospital for 2020- 21 by U.S. News & World Report. Ochsner was also ranked #1 in the New Orleans metro area. In addition, OMC was nationally ranked as one of the nation’s top 50 in neurology and neurosur- gery in the new 2020-21 Best Hospitals rankings published online. This is the 11th consecutive year that OMC has been nationally ranked among the Best Hospitals in America and is the only nation- ally ranked hospital in Louisiana and Mississippi.
