Tulane Health SystemNames Dr. Bob Lynch NewCEO Dr. Bob Lynch, who served as Tulane Medi- cal Center’s CEO from 2007 to 2014, was named Tulane Health System’s chief executive officer. Lynch, who has served Tulane in an interim CEO capacity since October, is the CEO of Tulane Med- ical Center in downtown New Orleans and Tulane Lakeside Hospital in Metairie, and he will provide additional oversight to Tulane’s Lakeview Regional Medical Center campus in Covington. He will also continue to advance the hospitals’ partnership with the Tulane University School of Medicine, leveraging his background in both healthcare and academia. “Dr. Lynch’s legacy at Tulane is profound, as he led tremendous efforts to rebuild the hospital’s infrastructure and clinical programs after Hurri- cane Katrina,” said M.L. Lagarde III, president of HCA Healthcare’s MidAmerica Division, which owns and operates the health system in partner- ship with Tulane University. “It is no overstate- ment to say Tulane Health System would not be the world-class system it is today without his lead- ership during that critical time, and we are excited to see where he takes us in the future.” Most recently, Lynch has served on the board of directors for PhysIQ, a med/tech company that develops predictive analytics for the monitoring of patients. Prior to his role at Tulane, he served as the director of the South Central Veterans Affairs Health Care Network. He has also held academic leadership roles at the University of Texas South- western Medical Center and University of Missis- sippi Medical Center. Lynch is an Air Force vet- eran, and he earned a medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. “I am thrilled to return to Tulane and the New Orleans region,” Lynch said. “I see tremendous growth opportunities for both the city and our health system, and I’m excited to help lead these efforts. Our mission is to provide world-class patient care, education and research, and we are well-positioned – as a health system and a com- munity – to do just that.” Lynch succeeds Dr. William Lunn, who was pro- moted within HCA Healthcare last year to a posi- tion in Richmond, Va. Ochsner Health Systems’ Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship Designed to Meet Community Need Across the United States, one in every 10 babies is born premature (before 37 weeks gestation). In Louisiana, that number is even higher with a 13 percent preterm birth rate, making it the second- highest state in the country for pre-term births, behind Mississippi. Since access to high-quality prenatal care both for mother and baby has been shown to increase the chances of a safer, full-term pregnancy, Ochsner Health System is offering a Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) Fellowship to train the next generation of healthcare professionals in this high-demand specialty. MFM subspecialists are OBGYNs who undergo additional training to become experts in high-risk TRHS LOPA AWARD Thibodaux Regional Health System was among a select group of hospitals nationwide recognized for promoting enrollment in state organ donor registries in a national campaign sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).
