Linares  Our population is changing. The Baby Boomer generation is aging, and we will see a significant population increase of individuals ages 65+ over the next several years.As our community ages, it is important that our services growwith them. Touro has invested in senior care to expand our ser- vices and create a comprehensive program to care for our aging community. Senior care encompasses some of our established ser- vice lines, such as cardiology, oncology, and rehabilitation, while bringing advancements to our emergency department and inpatient units to better care for senior patients. Editor Can you describe the Touro patient base and the uniqueness of Touro patients? Linares What I love about Touro is that we care for patients at every stage of life. From birth through adulthood, and if needed, through serious illness. So many patients that come to Touro for senior care services will talk about how they were born here, and their parents were cared for here. There is a generational community connection with Touro patients that you don’t see at other hospitals or in other communities. Editor  What are some of the things you are most proud of at Touro? Linares  Our team. From our LCMC health board and leadership, Touro’s governing board, to our physicians and employees, I have never met amore dedicated team.They go above and beyond for our patients, and truly care for themas if they were caring for their own family. I am extremely proud of howTouro cares for this community. When I joined the Touro team, I felt as if I had found a hidden gem. Touro has some of the most talented physicians in the country, and our nurses, techs, and employees are the best in their field. It is a privilege to work alongside this team. n Touro Rebab
