The site team report is submitted to CAPTE, which then determines accreditation status.  According to CAPTE, the decision for re-accred- itation indicates that the program is meeting its mission as evidenced by graduates who are dem- onstrating competence, professionalism, a com- mitment to life-long learning, and responsiveness to changing health care needs. The program also demonstrates success in recruiting and retain- ing faculty who are committed to education and scholarship and who embody the attributes they seek to instill in their graduates. Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited program is required for eli- gibility to sit for the licensing exam. “Accreditation assures prospective students that a program is taught by qualified faculty and will fully prepare them to enter the profession and suc- ceed as physical therapists,” said J. M. Cairo, PhD, dean of LSU Health New Orleans School of Allied Health Professions. “We are proud that our doc- tor of physical therapy program continues to earn maximum accreditation.” Tulane Lakeside Hospital Now Offering 3DBreast Biopsy Tulane Lakeside Hospital is one of the first facili- ties in the region to offer 3D-guided breast biopsy, an advanced, minimally invasive technique that provides a sample of tissue that doctors use to identify and diagnose breast abnormalities.  The Hologic® Affirm™ Prone Breast Biopsy Sys- tem uses 3D imaging for biopsy guidance and increased precision. The 3D visualization facili- tates the localization and accurate targeting of lesions, including those that can be challenging to detect with conventional imaging techniques. In addition, this new biopsy technology has sev- eral key advantages over standard X-ray biopsy procedures, including faster targeting and fewer X-ray exposures, resulting in shorter procedure times and reduced radiation patient doses. The new biopsy system also has the advantage of allowing the patient to recline comfortably in the prone position, removed from the field of view of the biopsy instruments. “Tulane Lakeside Hospital is pleased to offer this advanced technology to the women in our com- munity,” said Tara Beth Anderson, associate chief “I am honored to be chosen to chair the Lakev- iew Regional board of trustees,” Donahue said. “It is an opportunity to give back to the community that has been a part of my entire life.” Donahue takes over after the recent pass- ing of longtime chairwoman Willie Paretti. “Ms. Paretti was an integral part of the leadership team at Lakeview Regional and served in numer- ous capacities for 37 years,” said Hiral Patel, Lakev- iew Regional’s chief executive officer. “While she will be profoundly missed, I am confident that John will have a significant impact as we continue to pro- vide the highest quality and comprehensive ser- vices to the Northshore community.” Donahue was raised in St. Tammany Parish, attended LSU, and now lives in the Covington/ Mandeville area with his wife and four children.
