Ochsner Class Room Naming Ceremony Held in Thibodaux Facility Fletcher Technical Community College announced the receipt of a $10,000 gift from Ochsner Health System. The funds will be used to continue building the program, and Fletcher’s Cardiopulmonary classroom has been renamed. A ceremony was held at Fletcher’s Thibodaux facility to formally recognize the Ochsner Health System Cardiopulmonary Care Science Program classroom. The donation and dedication comes on the heels of the announcement that 100 percent of Fletcher’s 13 Cardiopulmonary program students who graduated this spring have already gained employment. Two of the students, Bekah Crosby and Margo Olivier, are working at Ochsner Medi- cal Center – Kenner. Fletcher students who grad- uate in a variety of programs have career oppor- tunities across Ochsner Health System in both the Bayou Region and the greater New Orleans area. “We are so thankful to Ochsner Health System for their generosity in naming the Fletcher Cardio- pulmonary classroom,” commented Dr. Kristine Strickland, chancellor, Fletcher Technical Commu- nity College. “Through this donation, the college will continue to train and educate students in this critically needed area of healthcare. Graduates of the program work with patients on mechanical ven- tilation to maintain life support such as oxygen- ation, ventilation and airway management. They treat patients with pulmonary disease who have under-developed lungs and patients with chronic lung disease. Huron’s Studer Group Awards STPH for Excellence in Patient Care Huron’s Studer Group announced that St. Tam- many Parish Hospital is a 2019 recipient of the Excellence in Patient Care Award, for achieving high employee engagement scores in 2018. “We congratulate STPH on this achievement,” said Debbie Ritchie, Huron’s Studer Group man- aging director. “This recognition highlights their dedication to improving employee satisfaction and achieving excellence in healthcare.” Excellence in Patient Care Awards are presented annually to a select group of partner organizations from Huron’s Studer Group. To be eligible for an award, an organization must demonstrate over- all improvement in areas such as patient satisfac- tion, and employee and physician engagement. Duet, Obstetrics and Gynecology Thibodaux Regional Medical Center announced Lakeview Regional Medical Center’s Brittany Kimble Receives Daisy Award Lakeview Regional Medical Center announced that Brittany Kimble, emergency room nurse, was recently honored with The DAISYAward for Extraordinary Nurses. She was nominated by one of her patients, who said,“I was extremely sick when I came into the ER, and Brittany was so sympathetic. She realized how bad off I was and catered to my every need, never leaving my side. Brittany is very compassionate, understanding, outgoing, beautiful personality, fast, and efficient.
