As chief administrative officer, Fragoso will serve as a senior adviser to Children’s Hospital CEO, John Nickens IV, and will manage a wide range of administrative and executive responsibilities. Fragoso will work closely with CHNOLA phy- sician leaders to further develop and grow the organization’s provider services infrastructure to help attract and retain top pediatric provider tal- ent. Later this year, CHNOLA will formally intro- duce a provider practice plan designed to allow physicians to govern physicians,the first of its kind for pediatrics in Louisiana. Fragoso will serve as the primary administrative partner for the prac- tice plan. Fragoso will be charged with expanding upon CHNOLA’s statewide network of pediatric specialty centers and advanced care capabilities by spearheading key business development and partnership initiatives throughout the state and region. Fragoso joins CHNOLAaftermost recently serv- ing as president of the Texas Children’s Health surgery private practice. He was a clinical assis- tant professor at Jefferson University and worked with and taught surgical residents fromJefferson and Drexel University. He was also an administra- tor at an ambulatory surgery center in Langhorne, Penn. InAugust of 2010, following the earthquake in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Khoobehi providedmedi- cal relief at Hospital Bernard Mevs. Board-certified by the American Board of Sur- gery, Khoobehi is a fellow in the American Col- lege of Surgeons,an activemember of the Society of Vascular Surgeons, and is a registered physi- cian in vascular interpretation for ultrasounds.He holdsmedical licenses in Pennsylvania,NewYork, and Louisiana and has published a dozen jour- nal articles. Lakeview Regional Physician Group, located at 101 Judge Tanner Blvd., provides ser- vices for adult, adolescent, and limited pediatric vascular surgical needs. Children’s Hospital Earns Pediatric Echocardiography Accreditation by IAC Children’s Hospital New Orleans has been granted a three-year termof accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in Echocardiography in the area(s) of pediatric transesophageal, fetal, and pediatric transtho- racic at the hospital’s main campus. In addition, Children’s Hospital’s DenhamSprings andNorth- shore Centers have both been granted a three- year term of accreditation by the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) in Echocardiog- raphy in the area of pediatric transthoracic. “IAC accreditation is a seal of approval that of medicine. We celebrate the selfless compas- sion shown to each and every patient who walks through our doors. We celebrate lifesaving medi- cine that has created ripples throughout our com- munity, our region and – now we know – through- out the world.” This is the latest of several accolades earned by the hospital for its quality care. Tulane Medi- cal Center was recently named a Top 50 Cardio- vascular Hospital by IBM Watson Health in its 2019 study of U.S. hospitals’ inpatient cardiology services. The hospital was also recognized as a 2018-19 High-Performing Hospital by U.S. News & World Report for its treatment of two of the region’s most serious health concerns – chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and heart failure. Ali Khoobehi, MD, Joins Lakeview Regional Physician Group Lakeview Regional Medical Center, a cam- pus of Tulane Medical Center, announced the addition of Dr. Ali Khoobehi, a board-certified vascular surgeon, to Lakeview Regional Phy- sician Group. “Having Dr. Khoobehi join our Lak- eview Regional team is a tremendous benefit to our patients,” said Hiral Patel, Lakeview Regional CEO.“His surgical techniques are highly special- ized andwill allowmore patients to stay in the area for advanced and complex services.” Khoobehi, a New Orleans-area native, gradu- ated fromTulane University and received a med- ical degree from New York University School of Medicine. While in school, he also participated in research at the LSU Eye Center in New Orleans and the NewYork Eye and Ear Infirmary. He then concluded a post-doctoral fellowship as a Har- vard Medical School research fellow and MIT research affiliate.Khoobehi completed a five-year residency in general surgery at SUNYDownstate Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York, and was selected as a chief resident. In addition, he com- pleted a two-year vascular surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University, where he was elected a member of the prestigious H. William Scott Jr. Society.
