Hundreds of Supporters to Climb Baby Cakes Stadium on Airline in Support of Lung Research on May 12

Breathing should not be an uphill battle, but for many it is. On May 12 at 2:30 p.m., hundreds will participate in the American Lung Association climb at the Baby Cakes stadium in support of friends and loved ones who suffer from lung diseases like asthma and lung cancer. The event will raise funds and awareness for clean air and lung disease research, education, and advocacy.

Fight for Air Climb participants will scale 848 steps through the stadium, located at 6000 Airline Drive in Metairie. This is the ALA’s first climb fundraiser in New Orleans. “This is truly a remarkable experience for both running and fitness enthusiasts, as well as our participants suffering from a lung disease,” said Kelli Towers, executive director of the American Lung Association in Louisiana.  “And a reminder no one should have to fight for air on a daily basis.”

Fight for Air climbers can participate individually or as a team. Registration is $25 per participant, which includes a ticket to the Baby Cakes game post event. There is a $100 fundraising minimum.

For more information or to register, email Kelli.Towers@Lung.org, call (504) 681-9583, or visit ClimbNewOrleans.org.

The American Lung Association of New Orleans 2018 Fight for Air Climb is sponsored by United Healthcare, Dominos, Pourciau Law Firm, and Ochsner.
