Humana Event Helps Seniors Document Their Story, Fight Isolation

For the first time ever in the United States, New Orleans-area residents will be able to document their life story using a new, interactive online platform. Developed in Europe, AllTold allows individuals to organize their life history by asking a series of questions that trigger memories and milestones. Users can then create a custom, interactive scrapbook, complete with chapters, personal photos, video, and audio that can be shared with family and friends.

The “Tell Your Life Story with AllTold” event will take place at the Humana neighborhood location (747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard) in Metairie on June 21 from 10 – 11:30 a.m. All area residents are invited to attend the free Humana event to learn how to use the online platform and register for a complimentary AllTold account. Residents can then go home and use their log-in to customize their digital scrapbook at their convenience.

Humana is offering this platform to help address social isolation among seniors, as medical research finds that storytelling can be used to enhance social, physical, and mental well-being.
